The story of the Domaine de la Vieille Forge goes back to the 17th century and is testament to a highly successful legacy of family land passed on from generation to generation.
Their philosophy is simple: respect of soil and respect of fruit. Soils are essential because they give strength and personality to wines. Thus, the Domain tries to protect them by avoiding herbicide and developing natural weeds, a mix of forested wheat, rye and radishes. They work the soil deeply to force roots to grow further and the grapes express minerality. The grape bears all the potential of its terroir. This is why the harvests are done manually, for the respect of integrity of the fruit and the pressure on grapes is gentle and long, to preserve the maximum aromatic potential.
