Jura

Jura is the smallest wine region in France, with about 1,600 hectares, but it is among the most original, thanks to its unique personality.

The vines grow on low hills of limestone, and in little valleys of clay. The climate is continental with cold winters, and harvests are delayed as much as possible to allow the grapes to ripen. Jura is renowned for its 'vin jaune' (yellow wine), and its 'vin de paille' (straw wine).
